Chef Pietro Cinus grew up surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Island of Sardinia, filled with rows of wild asparagus and bright green chard overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Here, he learned the secrets to creating amazing Sardinian recipes from his mother, Maria. She prepared her signature dishes with ingredients from the surrounding land and sea, such as locally caught fish, foraged wild mushrooms, and freshly picked greens.
As a young, enterprising teenager, Pietro moved to Tuscany at 14 to pursue a career in woodworking. However, thanks to his friend, he quickly became interested in the culinary traditions of his new home. Working in a traditional Tuscan restaurant, Pietro cultivated his skills and eventually became known for his inventive takes on classic Italian cuisine.
